Saudi QVP for Egyptian Graduates: Steps, Documents & Translation

Saudi QVP for Egyptian Degree Holders

If you hold an Egyptian degree and have a job offer in Saudi Arabia, the Qualification Verification Program (QVP) will probably reach your inbox soon. Most Saudi QVP Egypt questions start with the same worry. Does this online check replace the old attestation route, or is it one more step? Moreover, which papers must you translate before you upload them?

In short, QVP is a digital check of your degree and experience against the job on your visa. However, it does not erase every Egyptian legalization step. This guide explains who needs it, how it works, which documents to prepare and where certified translation fits in.

What Is the Saudi QVP?

QVP sits under Saudi Arabia’s Professional Accreditation Program. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) runs it together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In Arabic, the ministry calls the service “Professional Verification” (التحقق المهني).

The idea is simple. First, the program confirms that your degree and work history are genuine. Then, it checks that they fit the occupation your employer chose for your visa. To do this, it compares your file with the Saudi occupational and educational classifications. As a result, a mismatch between your degree and your job title can now stop a visa early.

The program grew in stages:

  • Late 2023: launch for about 62 countries without a Saudi cultural attaché, in selected sectors.
  • August 2024: MHRSD said the first phase covered 128 countries and highly skilled jobs.
  • January 2025: the final phase reached 160 countries and 1,007 professions, including engineering and healthcare.

Saudi QVP Egypt: Who Needs It?

QVP targets higher-skilled roles. These are mainly managers, specialists and technicians in the first three groups of the Saudi occupational classification. For example, engineers, accountants, IT specialists and many health professionals fall here.

Skilled trades follow a different route. Plumbers, electricians and welders, for instance, sit a practical skills test instead. We cover that track in our guide to Saudi professional verification for Egyptian skilled workers.

Is Egypt included? Official releases give country counts, not a public country list. Egypt has a Saudi cultural attaché, so it was not part of the first wave. However, the 2025 expansion covers 160 countries. Therefore, before any Saudi QVP Egypt payment, ask your employer or licensed recruiter whether your visa occupation needs a QVP certificate.

A note for health professionals

Doctors, nurses and pharmacists also need a separate licence from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). For that licence, SCFHS uses the Dataflow Group for primary source verification. So, health workers often face two checks, one for the visa and one for the licence.

QVP vs the Old Cultural-Mission Attestation

Before QVP, Egyptian graduates relied mainly on a paper chain. Typically, the university and Egyptian authorities stamped the certificate first. Next came the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Finally, the Saudi side attested it where the employer required this.

QVP changes the method. Instead of checking stamps alone, it contacts the source and compares your credentials with your visa occupation. Some 2026 guides now say QVP has replaced cultural-mission attestation for most degrees. On the other hand, earlier advisory notes stressed that QVP works alongside legalization rather than replacing it.

So, what should you do? Keep your Egyptian legalization chain ready, at least up to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stage. Then, follow the exact list your employer gives you. Our Egyptian document authentication guide explains those local steps.

Step-by-Step: How the QVP Process Works

  1. Confirm the occupation. Check the job title on your visa with your employer. Ideally, your degree field should match it closely.
  2. Create an account. Register on the QVP portal with your email, mobile number and a password.
  3. Enter your details. Add your personal data, education and work history, then select your occupation.
  4. Upload documents. Add clear colour scans of each paper listed in the next section.
  5. Sign the consent form. This lets the program contact your university and former employers.
  6. Pay and track. Pay the fee online, then follow your status on the portal.
  7. Receive the result. After a successful check, you get a Professional Accreditation certificate for your visa file.

Fees and processing time

MHRSD says verification takes a maximum of 15 working days. In practice, slow replies from a university or past employer can stretch this. In addition, law-firm alerts and travel guides put the fee at about USD 93 (around SAR 349). However, the ministry’s own news releases do not state this figure. Therefore, confirm the amount on the portal before you pay.

Documents You Will Usually Need

  • A valid passport copy
  • Your degree certificate
  • Your academic transcript
  • Professional licences or syndicate membership, if your job needs one
  • Experience letters showing job titles and exact dates
  • Your job offer or employment contract, where available

For a smooth Saudi QVP Egypt application, consistency matters more than volume. For instance, your name, degree title and dates should match across every document and your passport.

Which QVP Documents Need Certified Translation?

Published QVP guides state that documents not in Arabic or English usually need a certified translation. The portal itself does not publish a detailed translation rule. So, an Arabic Egyptian degree does not automatically need translation for QVP alone. Still, translation often comes up for Egyptian applicants:

  • Certificates, transcripts or licences issued in French, German or another language
  • Experience letters from employers outside Egypt, such as in Italy or Turkey
  • English versions that your employer or recruiter asks for, even when the original is in Arabic
  • Other visa papers, such as a police clearance certificate, if the file requires an English copy

At COT, we provide certified translation with our official stamp and a signed translator certification. In addition, we spell names, degree titles and dates exactly as in your passport. You receive a clear PDF for upload and a printed, stamped copy if needed. For academic files, see our transcript translation services. Common Mistakes That Delay Saudi QVP Egypt Files

  • Wrong occupation. A visa title that does not match your degree is the most common problem.
  • Name mismatches. For example, “Mohamed” on the degree and “Muhammad” on the passport can trigger questions.
  • Vague experience letters. Letters without titles, dates or company stamps are hard to verify.
  • Partial translations. Stamps, seals and handwritten notes should be translated too.
  • Late start. Begin QVP early, rather than after your medical exam and other visa steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is QVP in Saudi Arabia?

QVP is the Qualification Verification Program. It checks that a foreign worker’s degree and experience are genuine and match the visa occupation.

Does QVP replace attesting my Egyptian degree?

Not always. Some guides say it replaces cultural-mission attestation for most degrees, but legalization may still apply. Follow your employer’s exact list.

How long does QVP take?

MHRSD says up to 15 working days. Delays can happen if your university or former employer replies slowly.

Do I need to translate my Arabic degree for QVP?

Usually not for QVP itself, since Arabic is accepted. However, your employer may still ask for a certified English translation.

Do plumbers and electricians need QVP?

Generally no. Skilled trades take a separate practical and theory skills test at approved centres instead of a degree check.

This guide reflects rules published as of October 2026. Requirements can change, so always confirm the latest guidance on the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources website and the QVP portal before you apply.
